Roberto Cavalli says The Armani Hotel Milano looks like a 'psychiatric hospital'

Designer Roberto Cavalli has taken a shot at his fellow Italian and runway rival Giorgio Armani by describing his recently opened Armani Hotel Milano as looking like a "psychiatric hospital".

The hotel in question, Armani's second foray as a hotelier following the the opening Armani Hotel Dubai, is located on Milan's via Manzoni near the famous La Scala opera house and the Il Duomo cathedral.

The bottom portion of the building is a listed landmark built in the thirties and as such could not be altered. Inside though is 162,000 square feet of pure Armani luxury including: the Armani/Nobu restaurant, 95 guest rooms and suites , all featuring Armani Casa linens, fabrics and custom furniture, an Armani SPA, a 13,000 square foot business center on top with sweeping views the Milaneses cityscape and the Armani PrivĂ© boutique.

It should be noted that Mr. Cavalli's remark could have been meant as a reposte to a thinly veiled criticism allegedly levelled recently by Mr. Armani concerning some designers (Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana most likely) prediliction for dressing women "like prostitutes".
